Dining at Mout & Hout is more than just food. It is an experience. The gentle crackle of fire, the sizzle of meat on the grill, the hum of expectant conversation. Everything contributes to the lively atmosphere that defines Mout & Hout. The air here is thick with anticipation, excitement and the earthy aroma of smouldering wood. This is where stories are shared, friendships are forged and, above all, delicious food is served.

 

LOCAL, FRESH AND PURE

 

At Mout & Hout, we believe in the power of local ingredients and honest craftsmanship.
We work closely with farmers and producers from our region who share our values: quality, animal welfare, and sustainability. These are people we know personally—people who provide us with the freshest, finest products, straight from the land, with a story we’re proud to share.

A cornerstone of our menu is high-quality meat. Our beef comes from trusted sources like Lindenhoff in Baambrugge, known for their ethical approach to livestock, and the Brabantse Hei in Hooge Mierden, where cattle roam freely in a natural environment. We also serve exclusive Vessem beef, raised with care by Mieke van de Pas. Each year, she selects a small number of calves from small farms near Vessem. These animals grow up along the banks of the Beerze river and are partially fed with spent grain from our own Beerze brewery.

This same spent grain doesn’t go to waste—it’s also used to bake our house bread. In doing so, we make the most of every ingredient and close local food loops in a way that is thoughtful, efficient, and respectful.

In season, we also serve goatlamb sourced from a local farmer in Vessem. It’s a beautiful and flavorful product that adds variety and balance to our menu, and fits seamlessly with our commitment to sustainable choices.

Our kitchen revolves around craftsmanship: slowly smoked meats over Dutch wood, flavorful sides, and a seasonal rotation of fresh vegetables. All ingredients are prepared, smoked, and sliced fresh every day. And of course, our own Beerze beer is served straight from the tap—fresh as it gets.

At Mout & Hout, honesty, transparency, and craftsmanship are at the heart of everything we do—on the plate, in the kitchen, and in the partnerships we build. This is food made with care, served with purpose, and rooted in the region.
